Gas is a cheaper and more economical way of heating your home but some people don’t have mains gas to their house. If you are just looking to heat a room, workshop of garage space for examples, you are probably better off purchasing a portable propane heater, this will be cheap and efficient and you can move it around to the rooms you want to heat.  These types of portable propane heaters are also really handy if the electricity is cut off or your have some other type of heating emergency. Also if you do not have a reliable electric supply propane heater is a good alternative to keep you warm, just make sure the one you buy does not need any electrical input to make it work as some of them do.
